Feel U Up was released as the b-side of Partyman, the second single from Prince's eleventh album Batman. In 1993, it was included as the sixth track on The B-Sides compilation (included as the third and final disc on The Hits / The B-Sides).
In 2019 the original 1981 recording, mixed together with Irresistible Bitch was released as a track on one of the bonus discs with the deluxe edition of the 1999 album.
While specific recording dates are not known, Feel U Up was initially recorded around the same time but in a different session from Irresistible Bitch in November 1981 (estimate) at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA.
It was later re-recorded at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA on 27 October 1986, on the first day of sessions for the Camille album (the day after overdubs on Housequake, the day before Rebirth Of The Flesh and Rockhard In A Funky Place). It was included as the fourth track on the 5 November 1986 configuration of the album Camille (to be credited to Camille), but it was discarded when the Dream Factory and Camille albums evolved into the Crystal Ball triple-album. The same recording was used when included on the Partyman single in 1989 (on the Long Stroke version; the Short Stroke version is an edit), but credit was given solely to Prince, rather than the pseudonym Camille.
