Irresistible Bitch was released as the b-side of the single Let’s Pretend We’re Married, the fourth and final single from Prince’s fifth album 1999.

In 1993, it was included as the eleventh track on The B-Sides compilation (included as the third and final disc on The Hits / The B-Sides).

In 2019, the original 1981 recording (mixed together with Feel U Up) was released as the second track on the Vault Tracks part 1 disc of a Super Deluxe Edition edition of the 1999 album.

While specific recording dates for the first incarnation of the song are not known, it was initially recorded in November 1981 (estimate) at Prince’s Kiowa Trail Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. This version was recorded separate from the earliest incarnation of Feel U Up, recorded around the same time, but Prince soon after mixed them together.

The better known released version is a re-recording done at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California on 15 September 1983 (five days before The Beautiful Ones).

  • The released mix of the November 1981 version was done by Niko Bolas specifically for the 1999 Super Deluxe Edition release. It was made to replicate an original mix from 1981, as much as possible. So even when a slightly different mix of this track might exist, the now released version is not considered a true alternate mix of the track.
  • main synth in the song is the Oberheim OB-X
