I Guess It’s All Over is the eighth and final song on Mazarati’s first album Mazarati, and a month before the album’s release, the track was included as the b-side of Players’ Ball, the album’s first single. The track was written by Brown Mark as Weekend before Prince re-wrote the lyrics and renamed the song I Guess It’s All Over. It was previously believed Prince was not involved in the track.
While specific recording dates are not known, basic tracking took place in May 1985 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California, while Prince was working simultaneously in another studio in the building on the Parade album.
