I Like It There is the second track on Prince’s 18th album Chaos And Disorder, the second album credited to . In 2003, the NPG Music Club streamed a video of the song , although the video itself had been filmed in late 1995 (and worked on further in Spring 1996).
While exact recording dates are not known, it is likely that basic tracking took place in late 1994, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. It is not known if any additional recording or overdubs took place before the song’s release. It was placed on an unreleased Playtime By Versace project in mid-late 1995.
On 30 November 2012, a 4:08 audio rehearsal version of I Like It There by Prince and the New Power Generation was streamed on Hannah Ford’s Facebook Page with the following message: Here’s a clip from rehearsal today! Enjoy! :-) God Bless
On 19 October 2013, a live video excerpt of I Like It There from 19 October 2013 (a.m.) Paisley Park, Chanhassen, MN, USA was put on 3rdEyeGirl YouTube account.
3 days later, the full length live video of this performance was made available on 3rdEyeTunes.com for a limited period. The video contained a mirror effect from 2:50 onwards previously used in When Doves Cry music video and in Prince And The Revolution: Live. It was removed from the store on 31 October 2013.
