On The Couch is the tenth track on Prince’s 28th studio album Musicology, and, five weeks after the album’s download release, it was included as the b-side of Musicology, the album’s first single.

Tracking took place in January 2003 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Later in 2003 On The Couch was re-recorded at Metalworks Studios, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (along with additional work on or full re-recording of The Marrying Kind and If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life). Horn overdubs were added by Candy Dulfer, Maceo Parker and Greg Boyer on 19 January 2004.
