Satisfied is the seventh track on Prince’s 31st studio album 3121, but almost a year previously, a live clip of the song was available for download from the NPG Music Club. The following week, the live performance (as part of the Vanguard Jam medley) was available to download as video from NPG Music Club.
In April 2007, a live version was posted as streaming audio on 3121.com. In July 2007, another live version (in a medley with Down By The Riverside) was posted as streaming audio on 3121.com.
In 2008, a third 2007 live performance was included as the sixth track on the live album Indigo Nights (leading directly into Beggin’ Woman Blues).
Specific recording dates are not known, but it was likely recorded in early 2005 at either Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, or 3121 Antelo Rd. in Los Angeles, California. The track was included as the ninth track on a late 2005 configuration of 3121, before the album underwent some changes before its release.
Although it was not released as a commercial or promotional single, the song received some airplay and charted on various Billboard charts (see the Trivia section for details).
