Blood Is Thicker Than Time was the second and final single from Mavis Staples’ second Paisley Park Records album, The Voice, and was released in late 1993, a few months after the album’s release.

The b-side, I’ll Be Right There, was also taken from the album.

The single was re-released in 1995 on NPG Records soon after the album’s re-release, including different b-sides, The Undertaker and House In Order (both also taken from the album).

The single did not enter the charts.
