In 1986, the Extended Version was included as the third track on The Glamorous Club Dance EP, a Japan-only EP of extended versions of Sheila E.’s singles.

Basic tracks were recorded by Prince and Sheila E. on 9 January 1985 at the Cheshire Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, after a show on 8 January at the Atlanta Omni on the Purple Rain Tour.
