Sleep Around is the seventh track on the third disc of Prince’s 19th album Emancipation, the third album to be credited to .
Basic tracking dates are unknown, but it is likely that the track was recorded in late March or early April 1996 at South Beach Studios, Miami Beach, FL, USA (engineer César Sogbe also worked on Chaos And Disorder at the same time). It contains a sample of "Squib Cakes" (miscredited as "Squibcakes") by Tower Of Power (written by Chester Thompson, from their 1974 album Back To Oakland), which was previously sampled on Release It.
