Down is an unreleased track recorded in September 1992, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (during the same set of sessions that produced Extraordinary, Holly Don’t Care, The P, The Halls Of Desire, Paris 1798430, Uncle Sam, Super Hero and a remake of Shhh). It was copyrighted at the Library of Congress on 1 October 1993. The track was written by Prince, Levi Seacer, Jr., Kirk Johnson, Sonny Thompson, Michael Bland & Rosie Gaines (Rosie Gaines stopped working with Prince in late 1992, suggesting the track (or at least the music) could not have been recorded later); it is likely that Prince’s lyrics were added to music developed from a jam session.

It was intended for use on Tevin Campbell’s second album I’m Ready. The track is written from Tevin Campbell’s perspective and mentions him by name. He recorded vocals for the track at an unknown time and studio. The track remains unreleased.
