Feline is an unreleased song recorded on 16 July 1984 at Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse, and was intended for The Family album. Paul Peterson confirmed in 2009 that he did record vocals for the track, confirming that a version by The Family does exist. Peterson objected to the lyrics of the song and asked for it not to be included on the album.

Prince reworked the track with Sheila E. on 13 February 1985 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California. Some lines from Feline were reused for Holly Rock recorded later in the Spring. Eric Leeds worked on the track again in January 1990 (presumably as an instrumental track) for possible inclusion on a planned third Madhouse album which ultimately became his Times Squared, but it was not included on the final album.
