Irresistible Bitch was released as the b-side of the single Let's Pretend We're Married, the fourth and final single from Prince's fifth album 1999.
In 1993, it was included as the eleventh track on The B-Sides compilation (included as the third and final disc on The Hits / The B-Sides).
In 2019 the original 1981 recording, mixed together with Feel U Up was released as a track on one of the bonus discs with the deluxe edition of the 1999 album.
While specific recording dates for the first incarnation of the song are not known, it was initially recorded in November 1981 (estimate) at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. This version was recorded separate from the earliest incarnation of Feel U Up, recorded around the same time, but Prince soon after mixed them together.
The better known released version is a re-recording done at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California on 15 September 1983 (five days before The Beautiful Ones).
