Noon Rendezvous is the third track on Sheila E.’s first album The Glamorous Life, and in Autumn 1984, Noon Rendezvous was released as the album’s third single. Noon Rendezvous, co-written by Prince and Sheila E., is the only track on the album to have contained writing input from Sheila E. despite the album’s credits stating that she had written all of the songs.
Basic tracking took place on 13 February 1984 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California, five days before Another Lonely Christmas). Sheila E.’s vocals were likely recorded in late March or early April 1984 at Sunset Sound.
In 2019, a version with Prince on lead vocals was released as the fourth track on the album Originals. This mix was created specifically for this posthumous release.
