  • Promotional image on 3121.com for initial download in February 2007:
  • In the US, Verizon VCast ran a 30-second TV advertisement for the download of Guitar, beginning 31 May 2007.
  • In the UK/Ireland, Prince's release of Planet Earth through the Mail on Sunday newspaper generated a huge amount of media discussion, which served as unofficial promotion for the single also (although this may in fact have hurt sales, as potential customers knew they could receive the full album free with the newspaper).
