Lauriann (or Laurianne) is song recorded on 18 September 1990 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (additional recordings for Willing And Able and Daddy Pop took place on the same day). Prince and his band were working on songs that ended up being included on the Diamonds And Pearls album but is unknown if this song was intended for this project at that time (a person named Laurianne is thanked on the album however).

Lauriann wa re-recorded on 2 January 1993 (during the same session that produced Come, Dark, Dolphin, Endorphinmachine and Dream). This version featured Prince, Michael B. and Sonny T., but soon after, Prince reworked the track alone, only reusing Michael B.’s drum track. One of these 1993 version was submitted for copyright at the Library of Congress as Laurianne (along with Dream) on 5 April 1993. It is unknown if this song was intended for, or later considered for, any specific project.

The 1990 take of the song is slated for release as one of the songs on the Diamonds And Pearls Super Deluxe in 2023.
