Funky by the New Power Generation is an unreleased cover version of the track by The Chambers Brothers (from the 1970 album New Generation) recorded in late 1994 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (during the same set of sessions as New Power Generation versions of Acknowledge Me, Super Hero, Outa-Space, Love... Thy Will Be Done, Proud Mary and Somebody's Somebody).
The track was included as the twelfth track (ninth song) on the 2 December, 1994 configuration of Exodus, ending with crowd noise and shouting by Sonny T. that leads directly into Proud Mary, but the track was removed from later configurations, and remains unreleased.
Prince had already used a sample of Funky by The Chambers Brothers on the 1989 song Funky (see Funky for details of that track).
