The Morning Papers was the fifth and final single to be released from Prince’s 14th album , the second album to be credited to Prince and the New Power Generation. It was released in the UK in March 1993 (on the same day as Candy Dulfer’s album Sax-A-Go-Go, which contains Prince input), and in the USA the following month. The b-side, Live 4 Love, was taken from Prince’s 13th album Diamonds And Pearls. Love 2 The 9’s, from , was also included on the CD release. The single reached number number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and number 68 on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles Chart.
