| Around The World In A Day (40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) is a set (Double-CD or triple-LP) of remastered tracks from Prince’s seventh full-length studio album Around The World In A Day (credited to Prince and the Revolution), including the previously released B-sides, remixes and extended versions associated with the album, along with both versions of 4 The Tears In Your Eyes. The tracks were remastered by Bernie Grundman and (according to the press release) "remixed in Dolby Atmos by Chris James, drawn from the original multi-track masters".
Unlike the (Super) Deluxe reissues of Purple Rain, 1999, Sign O’ The Times and Diamonds And Pearls, the Deluxe edition of Around The World In A Day release does not include any previously unreleased material, nor any video content.
The double-CD and triple-vinyl editions differ in some respects: the 7-inch edits of She’s Always In My Hair, Hello and Girl included on the CD are missing from the vinyl. The track order varies also with the 21:46 version of America, which is the tenth track on the first CD (and included whith the original album) but appears as the sole cut on the final LP side.
A single disc (CD or vinyl) edition containing only the remastered album was also released.
Sessions and compiling
See Around The World In A Day for details on recording of the original album. Interestingly, the 2025 remastered 12" Version of Girl plays back at a marginally slower speed than the 1985 vinyl B-side of the America maxi-single, extending its runtime from 7:36 to 7:46.
Promotion
The full 21-minute remastered version of America was released as a digital single on streaming platforms by The Prince Estate on 4 July 2025 (Independence Day), nine weeks before the official announcement of the album’s release. A remastered Paisley Park (Remix) mixed in Dolby Atmos was issued digitally on 11 September 2025 to coincide with the announcement of the 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. The 2025 remaster of 4 The Tears In Your Eyes ("We Are The World" version) followed on 2 October 2025. Hello (Fresh Dance Mix) and Pop Life (Extended Version) were both issued in November, prior to the album’s release.
In contrast to other Deluxe reissues, this expanded version was issued without a booklet or an accompanying podcast providing background, archival insights, or commentary from bandmates, engineers, or associates.
A week after the album, on 28 November 2025, a collection of 7" singles (Around The World In A Day - The Singles) was released to coincide with 'Black Friday' Record Store Day 2025. On the same day, a video for Pop Life, created by The Prince Estate, was made available online.
Charts
The album entered Billboard Top R&B Albums at number 24 and at number 176 on the The Billboard 200 chart.
