- This was the fifth show of the 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles residency. It was announced on 25 April
- Tickets for this show went on sale on Tuesday 26 April 2011 at 12:00 p.m. PDT
- With tickets going on sale for this show only two days before showtime, tickets were far from sold out. Only a few thousand people made it to the Forum. Around 9 PM, there were so much tickets left they started selling them for $10 at the Forum Box office. This was announced over twitter by The Twinz, DJ Rashida blogger Dr. Funkenberry amongst others.
- The colonnade section of the Forum was shut off and patrons who had tickets there were upgraded to sections closer to the stage.
- A setlist on paper, published before the show on the www.drfunkenberry.com website, showed that Nothing Compares 2 U, Dark Dance (Disco Heat) and Baby I’m A Star were left off the setlist, while Kiss (planned to be played following Purple Rain) was pushed back a bit, and Misty Blue, Play That Funky Music & Fantastic Voyage were added.
- This show brought the first performances at a Prince show of Teena Marie's Lovergirl (with lead vocals by Elisa Dease, as part of 17 Days), Lakeside's Fantastic Voyage and Roxy Music's More Than This, which closed the show.
- The show was professionally filmed, and was posthumously released in 2021 as a blu-ray disc in the deluxe edition of the Welcome 2 America album.
